Jennifer Hudson Is A Now Topic

Los Angeles Jennifer Hudson is no longer keeping mum her impending mommyhood.
After months of rumors, the Grammy and Oscar winner's longtime pal, Felicia Fields, confirmed that Hudson is expecting her first child with fiancé David Otunga, throwing the Dreamgirl a celebratory soiree in her native Chicago Saturday.
"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," Fields, also a singer-actress, told the Chicago Tribune. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet." (Fields, on the other hand, has no problem blabbing to a major newspaper...)
The 27-year-old Hudson and Otunga, a former reality star turned aspiring pro wrestler, have yet to officially announce the pending stork delivery, which was first reported by Essence magazine's website back in April. The Chicago Sun-Times claims she's roughly seven months along.
Also unknown: the tyke's gender.
"They don't know," Fields said, when asked if the couple received more blue or pink gifts. "More yellow.
"It was a nice time that we had."
Hudson wrapped her coheadlining tour with Robin Thicke back in late April. She has since done her best to avoid speaking out on her conspicuously curvier figure since then, telling Matt Lauer on the Today show last month she didn't "want to break any news."
She did, however, confirm that she and Otunga have set a date for their vow swap, but declined to reveal it publicly.
Singer Jennifer Hudson returned to her hometown of Chicago to celebrate her pregnancy with a baby shower, a source tells the Chicago Sun-Times.
The Sunday event reported by the unidentified source comes despite a lack of confirmation by Hudson, 27, and her fiance, reality TV star David Otunga, that she is pregnant. The singer's publicist, whose identity was not reported, denied the rumors in April.
The reports came after Hudson postponed recent concert tour dates claiming vocal cord strain. She also was seen at public appearances wearing tops with loose waists.
If the baby shower report is accurate, the event would have been a welcome Chicago change for Hudson. The Sun-Times said the "Dreamgirls" star left Chicago in the wake of the 2008 killings of her mother, Darnell Donerson; her brother, Jason; and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.
